Back country road "diamonds"

"Diamonds" are a girl's best friend.
Especially when she is running amidst thousands of them up a snowy back country road in 12 inches of the white stuff with her faithful dog for 2 hours. It was a beautiful run:
Quiet, except for the babbling creek and the occasional Billy Idol song mixed with some Journey and AC/DC when I got tired of the creek.
Sunny, except when I went around a turn and the sun disappeared around a steep peak.
Refreshing, except when snow got in my shoes and up my pant legs.
Invigorating, until I stopped to walk the last half mile to my car - then I felt the miles!
Still, except for the occasional "hello" to another endorphin junkie going the other direction.

Yes, "diamonds" are a girls' best friend. Followed by powerade and water at the end of the run!

Sounds wonderful, Kris!! That's my goal - to be able to run like that!
